Jennifer Jason & Gavin Magill

.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 10th 2009

Jennifer and Jason were able to pay off ALL of their hospital bills and doctor debt with the $20,000 raised at this years Pig Bowl!  Unfortunately Jennifer has just learned that they do not have enough space for her at the Seattle Trial.

Jennifer was offered some additional (much stronger & worse side-effects) Chemotherapy, but isn’t sure she wants to put her body through it.  Jennifer had made peace last month that if Seattle didn’t work out she wasn’t going to spend a bunch of extra money on more treatments locally.

Jason and Jennifer are still praying for a miracle and are still holding out for the possibility of getting into another trial somewhere else in the country.  In the meantime the family is hoping to take their son Gavin to Disneyland in the near future. Plans are in the works for the Pig Bowl to assist with travel arangments and expenses.

I will do my best to keep this page updated with information regarding Jennifer and her treatments in Seattle.  Rumor has it Jason and Jennifer are hoping to take Gavin to Disneyland!

UPDATE OCTOBER 31st 2009 By Jennifer Magill:

I have spoken with my doctors recently and we are getting me on the fast track with Hospice. Even though I plan to prove them wrong, yet again, my doc has given me a timeline of a few weeks, to a few months. I am having a hard time making commitments right now, based on how I feel.

I think that the Disneyland trip is going to be delayed, I just can’t do it right now, but Jason has promised me that he will take Gavin once everything settles down. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, it means so much, and thanks again for the Pig Bowl, at least we got a lot of stuff paid off, and it will be a good security blanket for Jason and Gavin. Thanks again. Jennifer

Update May 22nd 2023

Hello wonderful people who put on Pig Bowl. My friend Jennifer Magill was the lucky recipient of your hard work in 2009. I wanted to give you a little update on her son Gavin Magill. Despite all he’s been through, Gavin has grown up to be an incredible person and scholar. Yesterday I watched him graduate with his BS in Biology from Willamette University. Next he’s off to  Rochester NY for a PhD in Neuroscience. This is even more amazing because he’s turning 20 next month!

I’ve attached a photo from his graduation with his grandpa (Jen’s dad) Bill Barney and Bill’s girlfriend Kim. I’m  just so proud of Gavin and I wanted to share his success with you.

With gratitude,

Monica Garcia (Jen’s friend)
