Joshua Miner Updates…

As promised Joshua and his family made it to Disneyland after the Pig Bowl.

They spent 5 days there to be exact!

They also were able to purchase a larger, more accessible, vehicle for Joshua, bought a washer and dryer, installed wood flooring throughout their whole house, and purchased Josh’s brother Jeremiah his first truck for when he gets his license this winter.

Angela & Ty Richards (Parents to Josh/Jeremiah Miner) would like to thank the community for all their help.

They wanted to be at the 2015 Pig Bowl, but unfortunately will be out of town celebrating their one year anniversary.

They say we are in their prayers.

We Say Congratulations you guys! You’ll be in our prayers too.

The Goldendale Sentinel Obituary

Joshua Alan Miner, 21, of Goldendale went home to be with his Heavenly Father, August 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving and supportive family and friends.

Joshua was born on August 24, 1995 in Toppenish to Richard Miner Sr. and Angela Marie. As most know, his life was challenging with his disability but was also a blessing to him and others who were around him for any period. With his beautiful blue eyes and contagious smile, Josh impacted many lives in many unique and diverse ways. Joshua entered the Goldendale School District in 2004 and amazed us all when he proudly graduated GHS in 2014.

Josh had many favorites! He loved dot-to-dots and counted everything. He loved watching his favorite cartoons, such as Slugterra, Ben 10, and Pokemon and had an ever-growing collection of movies. He spent hours playing video games, such as Skylanders, Lego Star Wars, and HaloWars. He collected Pokemon cards and played with his dinosaur and Lego Star War figurines for hours. He would always look for his brothers to wrestle with him and enjoyed winning a match of arm wrestling. He loved to eat and would ask for things often. Gogurts were his absolute favorite towards the end. He also really enjoyed corn on the cob, BBQ chicken, Tootsie Rolls, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, strawberry milkshakes, candy corn, and was known as the “Muffin Man” during his years at Head Start.

He loved Halloween the most but deeply enjoyed all the holidays, especially Christmas when he could put all the presents under the tree. He loved the beach and spending time at the beach house in Lincoln City where he would diligently pick out a new bag of precious rocks/gems every single visit. He would never miss a parade and a collected bag of candy. These were some of his fondest memories. Joshua brought great joy and happiness to those he loved. Even in the last few years of his life, he battled some great adversity but was a great fighter and a tough young man. He was always an overcomer! Joshua’s life brought an infinite legacy of memories that will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Miner Sr .; his brother Richard “Ricky” Miner Jr .; Grandpa Scott Householder; and Uncle Mike Elsberry. Survivors include his mom Angela Richards; his step-dad Ty Richards; his step-mom Jennifer Miner; his brothers Jeremiah, Devon, and Shawn Miner; and step brothers and sisters Ahren, Alijah, Adonai, Ethan, Erik, and Paige. Also included are his Grandma Patty, Grandma and Grandpa Lane, Grandma and Grandpa Phillips, Grandma Bobbie, Grandma Donna, Aunt Cheena, Aunt Becky and Uncle Boyd, Aunt Barbi and Uncle Michael, Aunt Ange and Uncle David, Aunt Jessica, Aunt Dixie, Aunt Loni and Uncle Curtis, Uncle Mike, and cousins Taylor, Myka, Boyd Jr., Ryker, Draco, Samuel, Lily, Ana, Michaela, and Lila.

Our families would like to thank all of those who made a difference in Joshua’s life. We would like to invite you to come and enjoy Josh’s celebration of life this Thursday, August 24, 2017 at New Life Assembly of God at 3 p.m. with a dinner following the service. This coincidently would have been his 22nd birthday. Please join us as we celebrate his light that could brighten any darkness.

We miss you Joshua! Jealous you made it there first. Our prayers continue to be with your family.
